OUR PROJECT IN BRIEF:

The main objective of the „EU for vocational education and recognition of qualification“ project is to increase employability and align educational institutions more closely with the needs of the labor market and, ultimately, the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project primarily focuses on strengthening VET and establishing a robust system for verifying skills in BiH. This approach aims to improve employment prospects for students and skill holders. By achieving these goals, BiH can make significant progress in VET, providing young people with better opportunities to successfully enter the job market, while simultaneously elevating the quality of the VET system reflecting the EU standards and modern developments, including digitalization.

This will be done by:

-  Developing a structured and clear institutional framework (including necessary strategies, actions, plans, methodology and model) and trainings to implement the “Improving the Quality and Relevance of Vocational Training and Education in BiH – based on the Riga Conclusions and Osnabruck Declaration” document,

- Developing manuals and implementing training programme to improve the recognition of informal learning while increasing the knowledge and awareness on its importance; and finally,

- Developing a necessary institutional framework through strategy and action plan, road map and training programmes to strengthen the incorporation of digital and entrepreneurial competencies skills in the education system in line with the EU Digital Competence Framework for Citizens (DIGCOMP) and the Entrepreneurship Competence Framework (ENTRECOMP).

 PROJECT COMPONENTS AND EXPECTED RESULTS:

COMPONENT 1: Improvement of quality of the formal VET systems

The activities within this component focus on establishing a reliable and effective quality assurance system in VET, resulting in the improved quality of VET in BiH.


COMPONENT 2: Recognition of non-formal and informal learning (RNFIL) in BiH

The activities under this component comprise a multi-faceted approach in establishing a robust system for validation of non-formal and informal learning for the VET sector in BiH, resulting in the developed and tested models for recognition of non-formal education and informal learning.


COMPONENT 3: Strengthening of the key competencies regarding digital and entrepreneurial skills

The activities under this component will bring BiH a significant step closer to integrating both digital and entrepreneurial skills in education following the EU DigComp and the EntreComp frameworks, resulting in the advanced digital and entrepreneurial competences in the BiH Education Systems.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

In accordance with the Conclusion of the Government of Republika Srpska, number 04/1-103-2-880/25, adopted at the Government session on March 13, 2025, it was decided that the institutions of Republika Srpska will withdraw from the project "EU for Vocational Education and Skills Recognition in BiH." The decision was submitted to the project team for notice on March 26, 2025. The project, in cooperation with other partners from the Federation of BiH and Brčko District, continues to implement the planned activities.
