On April 10 and 11, the fourth meeting of the project’s Working Group (WG) for Strategic Development and Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (VET) took place in Sarajevo.
During this two-day meeting, the Working Group continued its joint efforts in developing a proposal for the Methodology for Quality Assurance in Vocational Schools, with a special focus on the role of quality assurance in enhancing employability, relevance, and lifelong learning.
The WG members looked at current trends in VET quality assurance across the European Union and discussed the specific challenges Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing in this area.
This WG also discussed the European Quality Assurance Framework for Vocational Education and Training (EQAVET). It’s a shared framework developed at the EU level to help member states, candidate countries, and partners set up and improve their quality assurance systems in vocational education.
In addition, it was emphasized that, in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the application of the EQAVET framework does not entail a mechanical adoption of the EU model. Instead, it should be adapted to fit the local education system, regulations, and the unique setup and needs of each school or institution.
This meeting was another step toward improving the quality of vocational education in BiH and aligning it more closely with European standards - one of the main goals of the project.
