At the fourth meeting of the Project Working Group (WG) on Key Competences, held online today, 17 June 2025, the list of schools proposed for piloting the Methodology for Integrating Key Competences into the Vocational Education and Training (VET) System in Bosnia and Herzegovina was presented and unanimously adopted.

This decision was preceded by a series of necessary consultations between WG members and relevant ministries, pedagogical institutes, and potential pilot schools from the Federation of BiH and Brčko District.

Recognising that piloting is a complex and demanding process requiring a high level of motivation and readiness for active involvement in all stages, seven schools have been proposed following extensive discussions. These schools demonstrated strong motivation and willingness to participate fully in the pilot:

Vocational Secondary School "Džemal Bijedić"from Goražde, Mixed Secondary School of Civil Engineering and Geodesy from Tuzla, Secondary Hospitality and Tourism School from Sarajevo, Secondary School of Civil Engineering and Geodesy from Sarajevo, Mixed Secondary School from Bosanski Petrovac, Agricultural and Medical School from Brčko, and Secondary Electrotechnical School "Salih-Salko Ćurić" from Mostar.

During the same meeting, the Working Group also reviewed and adopted the Roadmap for Implementing the Methodology for Integrating Key Competences into the VET System in BiH.

The Roadmap outlines clear steps, activities, required resources, and timelines needed to transition from traditional educational approaches to a competence-based model. This model integrates knowledge, skills, and attitudes, aligned with European standards.
