At the 11th meeting of the Project Steering Committee (SC) of “EU for Vocational Education and Skills Recognition in BiH”, held on 29 October 2025 in Sarajevo, a series of important documents essential for the continued successful implementation of project activities were presented and adopted.
The SC members unanimously endorsed the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Methodology for Integrating Key Competences into Education. This document sets out clear steps, activities, required resources, and timelines for transforming traditional teaching practices into a competence-based model that combines knowledge, skills, and attitudes in line with European standards. The Action Plan will serve as a strategic tool for piloting this methodology in selected schools across BiH.
The SC also adopted the Methodology for Developing a Roadmap for the Integration of Digital Competences (DIGCOMP) into education systems in BiH. The planned Roadmap will serve as a policy and implementation framework, defining specific steps, timelines, responsibilities, and resources needed to incorporate digital competences into teaching, learning, and school management.
During the meeting in Sarajevo, the Methodology for Needs Assessment in this area was also adopted, along with the Amendments to the Decision on the List of Nominated Master Trainers and Quality Coordinators. Through these activities, the project continues to support schools in BiH in systematically integrating digital competences into the education system—competences that have become essential for individual success, the labour market, and the development of a modern economy.
In addition, the SC members were briefed on upcoming activities within Project Component 2, “Validation of Non-Formal Education and Informal Learning in BiH (VNFIL)”, which include training for 150 future master trainers in this field, as well as pilot implementation in selected vocational schools at four locations across the country. The Communication Campaign Strategy and Action Plan for VNFIL were also presented, aiming to further promote this process and raise awareness of its importance both within the professional community and among the wider public.
As in previous meetings, the 11th SC session brought together representatives of education ministries from different administrative units in BiH, along with representatives of the Ministry of Civil Affairs of BiH and the Delegation of the European Union to BiH.
